Diabetic Retinopathy Studies 

IRB-HSR # 13256: A Phase III, Double-Masked, Multicenter, Randomized, Sham Injection-Controlled Study of the Efficacy and Safety of Ranibizumab Injection in Subjects with Clinically Significant Macular Edema With Center Involvement (CSME-CI) Secondary to Diabetes Mellitus

The purpose of this study is to assess the safety and efficacy of injections of the investigational drug, ranibizumab, in patients with CSME-CI secondary to diabetes mellitus (Type 1 or 2).

Key Eligibility Criteria:

  1. At least 18 years old
  2. Have a confirmed diagnosis of diabetes mellitus (Type 1 or 2)
  3. Retinal thickening secondary to diabetes mellitus
  4. Visual Acuity between 20/40 and 20/320 in the study eye

IRB-HSR # 13796: A Phase 2, Randomized, Double-Masked, Placebo-Controlled, Dose-Ranging Clinical Study to Assess the Safety and Efficacy of Subconjunctival Injections of Sirolimus in Patients With Diabetic Macular Edema Secondary to Diabetic Retinopathy

The purpose of this study is to determine the safety and efficacy of injections of the investigational drug sirolimus (rapamycin) at various doses in patients with diabetic macular edema.

Key Eligibility Criteria:

  1. At least 18 years old
  2. Have a confirmed diagnosis of diabetes mellitus (Type 1 or 2)
  3. Have a confirmed diagnosis of diabetic macular edema secondary to diabetic retinopathy
  4. Visual Acuity between 20/40 and 20/200 in the study eye
