These steps are used for showing a VHS tape.
- Choose the Select Video/Computer menu option. (If you cannot get the selection screen to display, then the system has not been powered up. Please see Power Up the System in the Morning for more instructions.)
- Place the video tape in the VCR. This device is located in the left side of the lectern.
- Press the VCR button on the touch panel. (The video projector is automatically powered and lowered when you select this.) The lights will automatically adjust to the preset level. The VCR controls will be displayed for operation.
- Use the VCR controls on the touch panel (under Select Video/Computer) to control the operation of the video tape player. Volume is also controlled from here.
- When using the VCR controls on the touch panel, you will need to press and hold the selection for two or three seconds before the action will occur.
- When the video tape is over:
- Don't forget to eject your tape from the VCR.
- If you will be using another visual resource, proceed to it. (This should take care of the projector and lighting as necessary.)
- If you will be lecturing without any visual aids, you will want to raise the projector and turn on the lights. To do this, select the Video Proj menu option and press the Raise Video Projector button and then the Video Projector Picture Mute button. Then select the Lights & Blackboards menu option and press the All On lighting presets button.
- If you will be using the blackboards, please see Using the Blackboards.
Notes:
If you attempt to adjust the lighting, it will be reset when you switch back to the VCR controls. So you should only adjust the lighting after starting the tape if you don't need to return to the VCR controls.
