Display Your Own Video Source

If you bring in another device, such as a microscope, that can produce video output then you will need to connect it to the AUX VIDEO port located in the right side of the lectern. There is a label below the connectors (video and audio) that you will need to use. To display this out of the video projector

  1. Plug your video source into the AUX VIDEO port in the lectern. You will need to provide your own cable connection, there is not one stored in the lectern drawer. Power on the device you have connected to the system.
  2. Choose the Select Video/Computer menu option. (If you cannot get the selection screen to display, then the system has not been powered up. Please see Power Up the System in the Morning for more instructions.)
  3. Press the AUX VIDEO INPUT button on the touch screen. (The video projector is automatically powered and lowered when you select this.) The lights will automatically adjust to the preset level.
  4. If your device generates sound and you have it connected, the volume is controlled from this screen as well.
  5. When you are done displaying your video source:
    • Don't forget to disconnect the cables and unplug the power source.
    • Plug whatever you unplugged back into the outlet (if you used one in the lectern).
    • If you will be using another visual resource, proceed to it. (This should take care of the projector and lighting as necessary.)
    • If you will be lecturing without any visual aids, you will want to raise the projector and turn on the lights. To do this, select the Video Proj menu option and press the Raise Video Projector button and then the Standby button. Then select the Lights & Blackboards menu option and press the All On lighting presets button.
    • If you will be using the blackboards, please see Using the Blackboards.

Notes:

If you need to adjust the lighting, do so after you have selected the auxiliary video input source. When you make the video source selection, the system automatically sets the lighting to the preset Video level.
