Confidentiality of Reports
All reports of mistreatment are handled confidentially. The Committee takes no action without the approval of the student who makes the report. In some cases, students request that no immediate action be taken until a course or clerkship is completed or until the student graduates. Students may appear before the Committee to discuss their report or have their reports presented by a member of the Committee.
Medical students can make confidential reports about mistreatment or unprofessional behavior to any member of the Committee. They can also make anonymous reports to the Committee using the web site http://www.med-ed.virginia.edu/listen/.
