Who We Are
Dr. Kathie Hullfish is the head of the Division of Female Pelvic Medicine. She received her medical degree and OB/GYN residency training at the University of Virginia. After spending two years in private practice OB/GYN in Denver, Colorado, she received fellowship training in Urogynecology at Rush Medical College in Chicago before returning to Charlottesville to join the OB/GYN faculty in 1999. In addition to her clinical activities, Dr. Hullfish has received an NIH grant to study treatment outcomes for pelvic floor disorders. Along with her dedication to patient care and medical education, she is actively involved in community service within the local, state, and international arena.
Dr. Elisa Rodriguez Trowbridge recently joined the Division of Female Pelvic Medicine in August 2007. She received her medical degree at the University of Maryland and OB/GYN residency training at Emory Hospital. Following residency she joined the OB/GYN faculty at Tufts University and was in practice there for 3 years. She completed fellowship training in Urogynecology at University of Michigan in Ann Arbor. In addition to her clinical activities, Dr. Trowbridge has performed research on the causes and treatment of fecal incontinence, pelvic prolapse and urinary incontinence. In addition to her commitment to medical education, she is also actively involved in improving and promoting patient education of pelvic floor disorders.
