New Resources
NEW NDMDA/SAMHSA MENTAL HEALTH VIDEO
The National Depressive and Manic-Depressive Association (NDMDA) and the Center for Mental Health Services, part of the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration (SAMHSA) have collaborated on a new video, "Partners in Recovery: Creating Successful Practitioner-Consumer Alliances."  The 18-minute video was developed to improve therapeutic relationships between mental health professionals and patients.   www.mentalhealth.org

Internet Mental Health is an award-winning site that provides a wealth of information on mental and emotional disorders and their treatment. A large section on drugs used to treat the disorders explains what the drugs are supposed to do and their potential side effects. The 52 most common mental disorders including: description, diagnosis, treatment, and research findings us provided. The site even includes an "online diagnosis" feature that, as the site notes, is NOT a substitute for seeing a trained mental health professional. However, the diagnosis feature does help clarify the criteria used to classify mental health problems.

A guide to mental health, psychology, and psychiatry resources online, with over 9,000 referred resources and home to the oldest and largest online mental health community of over 14,000 regular members. Online continuing medical education is available in audio format. Weekly news, discussion forums, and psychopharmacology and drug references are highlights of this site.

Psychological Assessment Online

This site is designed to provide a comprehensive, online source of information on psychological assessment for professionals. It is divided into two distinct sections, one being more technical in nature, and focusing on providing interpretive guides for major objective and projective measures. A password is required in order to access the second area. This is a very detailed and informative site.
