In order to better meet the needs of the commonwealth, for mental health information and educational resources, we have established an Advisory Group made up of a variety of professionals, mental health advocates and consumers. NIMH Outreach Partner Virginia is a non-profit project of the University of Virginia School of Medicine, Department of Psychiatric Medicine, and bodytalk. We are one of 51 Outreach Partners, (one for each state and the District of Columbia) working with the National Institute of Mental Health (NIMH) to help spread the science-based and research message of mental health. NIMH Outreach Virginia is supported by a small seed grant from the NIMH, and depends on donations, grants and gifts to further its programs and projects. If you Our target audiences are the general public, mental health consumers, families, mental health and medical practioners.
