The Public Relations staff is available to field journalists' questions about medical research, patient care and the School of Medicine at the U.Va. Health System. We ask you to place your inquiries through us, so we may help you reach our busy staff and ensure you receive information that is relevant to your needs. Our goal is to help you find the best sources for your story, on deadline.
Specifically, the Public Relations staff assists journalists by:
- Distributing news releases and advisories, tip sheets, photo ops and PSAs via fax, mail or e-mail
- Coordinating on-camera and phone interviews with experts from the U.Va. Health System
- Offering b-roll and photographs to accompany stories, as available
- Arranging on-site logistics for visiting news crews
- Providing one-word condition reports on current patients
- Supplying background information on research and faculty
