Television Outreach

The Public Relations team's television outreach effort, produced completely in-house, is designed to gain greater visibility in the primary service area (geographic area from which we draw majority of patients) and throughout the state for the Health System, including:

• Live at Five House Call  - A twice weekly, two-minute live interview featuring a UVa doctor or healthcare professional on medical topics for WVIR-TV 29’s "Live at Five" newscast. WVIR, the local NBC affiliate, is the only commercial television in Charlottesville and the dominant news source in the primary service area.
  
• Video News Stories  - Packages of two to three medical news stories that are distributed to 13 regional television stations, including stations in Washington, D.C., and the Virginia metro areas of Richmond, Roanoke-Lynchburg and Norfolk.
