Megan Rowe came to the UVA Health System in July 2006 after spending a year reporting for the Charlottesville Daily Progress. She grew up in Virginia Beach and studied communications at Virginia Tech, focusing on print journalism, and minored in psychology. During her Hokie years, Megan wrote for Virginia Tech's student newspaper, the university's alumni magazine and eventually The Roanoke Times.

Sally Jones joined the UVA Health System in 2008 after nearly 10 years as a freelance writer and editor, specializing in public relations and fund-raising communications. Primary clients included academic health systems, medical foundations and nonprofit organizations. Her experience includes developing communications strategies and publications for a number of multi-million and billion dollar fund-raising campaigns. Prior to freelancing, she worked in communications and website management for UNC-Chapel Hill's Office of Development. A Richmond native, Sally earned a BA in English from James Madison University and pursued a master's degree in Mass Communication at UNC-Chapel Hill.

Ellen McKenna joined the UVA Health System in 2006. Early in her career, she played key roles in several entrepreneurial publishing ventures. She later held a progression of managerial positions in marketing and sales communications, publication management and domestic and international public affairs with AT&T and Bristol-Meyers Squibb. Most recently, Ellen worked as an independent consultant specializing in strategic planning, marketing communications and public relations. She earned a BA in Journalism/Public Relations from Kent State University in Ohio and an MBA in Marketing from Rutgers University in New Jersey. She also completed post-graduate coursework in Conflict Transformation at Eastern Mennonite University in Harrisonburg, VA.

Abena Foreman-Trice is a former medical reporter and weekend morning news anchor for WVIR NBC29 in Charlottesville. Her medical news stories, one of which won her the 1997 Virginia Medical Society Journalistic Excellence Award, received lots of acclaim. After 5 years in broadcasting, Abena transitioned into public relations where she continues to produce award-winning medical news stories for video and print outlets. In 2003 she received the Council for the Advancement and Support of Education (CASE) Award of Excellence in the video news category. In 2007 Abena won a Parenting Publications of America editorial award for her feature on Sudden Infant Death Syndrome which appeared in Albemarle Family Magazine. Before moving to Central Virginia, Abena got her start working with various cable news stations and an ABC affiliated-news station in the Hampton Roads region of Virginia. Abena has a BS in Mass Communications and an MA in Organizational Management.

David Foreman joined the UVA Health System in 2005. His primary responsibility is reputation development for the School of Medicine. David joined UVa after working in the public relations offices of Baptist Health in Jacksonville, Fla., and Sentara Healthcare in Norfolk, Va. Before entering health care public relations, he worked as a newspaper and radio journalist in Virginia. David received his undergraduate degree from The University of Richmond. |

Peter Jump has been with the Health System since 2004 and is responsible for issue management and development of communication strategies for internal and external audiences. In addition, he oversees the day-to-day operations of the Public Relations office and coordinates efforts with colleagues in UVa’s University Relations office. Before joining the Health System Peter worked for eight years as a public relations consultant to many public and private entities. He also has experience in trade association and government public relations offices in Washington DC. Peter grew up in England and graduated from Keele University in Staffordshire with a degree in Economics and Political Science. |
