U.VA. AMONG 100 TOP ORTHOPEDIC HOSPITALS NAMED FOR 2000The University of Virginia Health System has been named to the 100 Top Orthopedic Hospitals for 2000. The announcement comes from the second annual HCIA-Sachs Institute’s “100 Top HospitalsTM: Orthopedic Benchmarks for Success” study. The study is based on objective, quantitative performance data that are consistent and complete across all hospitals in the United States. Health System. “We strive to provide our patients with an exceptional level of care in all areas of orthopedic surgery. That these efforts are reflected in this year’s HCIA study reaffirms our commitment to giving the best possible care to those we serve.” “100 Top Hospitals: Orthopedic Benchmarks for Success” uses Medicare data and compares performance on four established, technical procedures - total knee replacement, total hip replacement, partial hip replacement and intertrochanteric fracture.
