Education
B.S. Trinity University, 2006
I earned a B.S. in both Biology and Psychology from Trinity University in San Antonio, Texas in the spring of 2006. In the fall of 2006, I joined the Neuroscience Graduate Program at the University of Virginia. After rotating in various Neuroscience related fields, I decided to pursue my doctoral research in the Holt/Géléoc Lab. My research focuses on the identification and characterization of inward rectifying currents within the mammalian inner ear. I am specifically interested in examining the physiological function and molecular composition of the inward rectifying current I
H in the mammalian vestibular system. I study the physiological properties primarily using the whole cell tight seal technique, and study the expression patterns using various molecular and biochemical methods.
