We have an active research group focused on sensory signaling in hair cells of the inner ear.  We want to understand how the stimuli from the external world, such as sound,  gravity and head movements are converted into electrical signals and how the information is encoded and transmitted to the brain.  Current projects in the lab range from investigations of sensory transduction and adaptation in hair cells, to firing properties of neurons to development of inner ear function.  We use electrophysiological techniques to assay hair cell and neuronal function, molecular techniques to identify and manipulate inner ear genes and proteins, and imaging techniques to study subcellular location and function.

Please feel free to contact any of us if you would like more information.  Thanks for visiting our web site.
