The 30-bed Adult Neurologic Inpatient Service on the sixth floor of University Hospital accepts patients from Virginia and surrounding states. In addition, because of the subspecialty expertise of particular faculty members, patients are sent from the rest of the U.S. and the world. Patients are admitted for diagnosis and treatment of a wide variety of neurologic diseases. Those diagnosed with chronic illnesses are followed by attendings and housestaff in the Neurologic Outpatient Unit.
