These tumors are about one-tenth as common as gliomas. A common location for PCNSL is not the ventricles, but rather the periventricular location. These tumors are may be found in persons whose immune system is not functioning (e.g., patients with AIDS or organ transplants); however, most cases arise in people with normal immune systems. Multiple tumors may be present, and occasionally this tumor spreads into the back of the eye or into the spinal fluid. Metastasis outside the brain is rare |
