This is a tumor that usually arises in the cerebellum. It accounts for
15%-20% of all childhood brain tumors, and is most common in patients 5 to 9 years of age. It is more common in boys than girls, and occasionally affects young adults. This tumor commonly spreads through spinal fluid pathways and occasionally spreads elsewhere in the body.
