The Neuro-Oncology Center
We are a multidisciplinary program of the UVa Health System dedicated to providing treatment of adults and children with brain tumors. Our philosophy of care is to offer patients and their families a full spectrum of innovative, advanced treatments within a coordinated, team-based approach focused on maximizing quality of life.
Patients at UVA benefit from some of the most advanced treatments for neurological cancers, including clinical trials and the Gamma Knife, a powerful instrument that directs radiation to brain tumors without surgery. UVA's neurology & neurosurgery and cancer programs are ranked among the best in the country by U.S. News & World Report, and the UVA Cancer Center is one of only two National Cancer Institute (NCI)-designated Clinical Cancer Centers in Virginia.
