Dr. Phillip C. Liverman was a fellow in the Division of Nephrology. Born in Wilmington, Delaware, he graduated from the University of Virginia School Of Medicine in 1973. After receiving his M.D., Dr. Liverman pursued internship and fellowship training at the University Hospitals of Case Western Reserve University in Cleveland, Ohio. He then returned to Charlottesville to pursue a three-year fellowship in Nephrology from 1976 to 1979. Dr. Liverman died on July 9, 1984, at an early age. His family and friends established the Phillip C. Liverman Endowed Lectureship in Nephrology with the intention to bring the most distinguished investigators to speak at the University of Virginia.
