Academic Positions

Neonatologist

University of Virginia

Charlottesville

The Division of Neonatology is currently recruiting for an academic neonatologist to join six colleagues at the University of Virginia .  The academic position will be consistent with the candidate’s qualifications.    Elements of the position that will be attractive to the right candidate are as follows:

  • The Division has a strong history of academic contributions in clinical and basic science investigation, education, and clinical care.
  • The clinical facility is a tertiary-level NICU with a highly regionalized referral area and all services (ECMO, thoracic and pediatric surgery, etc.) located in a single institution.
  • There is strong intra-institutional collaboration between clinical and basic sciences.
  • A significant portion of professional time can be protected for academic pursuits, depending on qualifications and goals of the candidate.
  • Charlottesville is a beautiful and historic university community in the foothills of the Blue Ridge Mountains, offering a wonderful environment for raising a family.

We are interested in maintaining a broad based program in both clinical and basic science areas and therefore we will consider applicants with various career interests in academic neonatology. A general description of the Division may be found at www.healthsystem.virginia.edu/neonatology.

If you are interested in this opportunity or are aware of someone whom you believe would be a strong candidate, please contact Dr. John Kattwinkel by letter, telephone, or e-mail, or have the candidate do so.  Position open until filled.  Submit Curriculum vitae to:
