Getting settled in a new town with kids can be trying so please look upon the SOG as a friendly resource to ask any questions. Many of us have been in Charlottesville for a number of years. We are glad to pass on our knowledge and experiences.

Resources For Students With Children -- The University's Office of the Dean of Students has created an initiative specifically to support students who are parents and their children. They plan to sponsor various events and functions throughout the year. Their website has links to resources within UVA and throughout the community.

Babysitting Information:
Several UVA offices maintain listings of babysitters ranging from full and partime childcare providers to occasional babysitters. Check with the UVA Human Resources Office and with the Women's Center.
