PHS 702 - Applied Epidemiologic Methods

This student-driven, case-based course combines disease-specific epidemiologic findings with discussion and application of advanced epidemiologic methods to illustrate techniques for conducting epidemiologic investigations.  Through student-led topic-specific sessions, class members learn about the natural history, clinical course, and risk factors for specific diseases, conditions, or outcomes of interest to their colleagues; use current topic-specific literature to discuss epidemiologic methods; and present proposed epidemiologic research of their own.  It is assumed that students have an understanding of the principles of epidemiology and the methods of epidemiologic research.
