Featured Student:
Faraaz Chekeni Faraaz is studying the mechanism by which apoptotic cells release nucleotides, which act as "find-me" signals to promote clearance of the dying cells by recruiting monocytes. Faraaz was second author on a recent paper in Nature on the role of nucleotides in apoptotic cell clearance, and he received a National Research Service Award from NHLBI for his work in the Ravichandran laboratory.
