Social Events
The MSTP students at UVa are a close-knit group, with many friendships from year to year and especially within each year. Most maintain close friendships from Med School classes and also develop new friendships in lab. Liz Thompson, the MSTP social chair, plans a casual social event following each month's Research in Progress Dinner and tries to have an independent social event as well. Wine tasting, polo games, Halloween parties, picnics, football tailgates, holiday parties, and trivia games at nearby restaurants have all been on the calendar recently!

The Downtown Mall, a bricked-in pedestrian section of Main Street, is replete with restaurants and boutiques, spilling out onto the side streets. Fridays After Five is a series of free concerts that runs late spring through early fall. |
