Electromyography

EMG data is collected by a Motion Lab Systems, Inc. (Baton Rouge, LA) 16 channel EMG system. Non-stick surface electrodes are placed on the skin over the muscle of interest. A wire connects each electrode to the small backpack which is attached to a vest worn by the patient. The EMG signal is sent by a small tether wire to the user station next to the data collection computer, which in turn is hard-wired to our VICON system for recording and processing of the EMG signals.
