Catherine Zuver, RN
Nurse Educator
at Midlife Health

The staff at the Midlife Health Center believe that education encourages women to make more informed decisions and choices in their health care and to enable them to take an active part in their health care. We offer a variety of educational opportunities:

  • Individual sessions
  • Yearly Midlife Health Festivals
  • Yearly Menopause Month (June) Activities

As the educator in the Midlife Health Center, I strive to stay informed on midlife health issues and changes as they develop. We have a great deal of information to distribute to patients in the clinic ranging from estrogen therapy, calcium, emotional issues of aging, designer estrogens, alternative approaches to estrogen, and much more.

On-site Reference Library: We have an on-site reference library with a great range of books, periodicals, videos and newsletters. These materials are not available to loan out as we like to have them available for everyone, but individuals are welcome to use our library while here.

We welcome any suggestions for topics via email to midlife@virginia.edu.

Annual Women's Health Festival: The Midlife Health Center has sponsored a festival or educational seminar the last 6 years for the community, free of charge. We have expert speakers on a wide range of topics, educational booths and panel discussions. These festivals have been a great service to the women of our community.
