The Advanced Microscopy Facility is supported by the University of Virginia School of Medicine and by a National Cancer Institute Cancer Center Support Grant to the University of Virginia. |

The Advanced Microscopy Facility, established originally as the Central Electron Microscope Facility in 1979, is an activity of the School of Medicine and operates as both a service and user resource for investigators at the University of Virginia. |

The facility provides: access to electron and light microscopes, training in microscope use and sample preparation, a full range of TEM and SEM preparatory services, and consultation regarding microscopy applications in biomedical investigations. |
The Advanced Microscopy Facility is located on the fourth floor of the Old Med School in room 4806. Visitors are welcome to drop by or contact us by phone at 434-924-2524.
On average, 72 investigators, representing 44 different departments/divisions, use the facility services each year.
