Martha W. Campbell Retires
|
| Martha got to know literally hundreds of graduate students
in the many years she assisted with the graduate program. She has kept up with many of the former
students and their families by seeing them periodically during their visits to Charlottesville, and also
receiving photos of marriages, babies, and vacations. Martha was like a “mom” and a confidant to
many of the students who often shared with her their highs and lows as
students. She was almost always the catalyst
that kept the students on track. |
| Words cannot express how much Martha has contributed to the
department in her 30+ years and how much we have appreciated her. We sent her off in style at a reception at
the Colonnade Club where many current students, faculty, classified employees,
and old friends and family wished her a happy retirement. So, Martha, enjoy rocking in that UVA rocking
chair and think about us every now and again!
