Molecular Imaging Core

The Molecular Imaging Core images animals and cells by several techniques:

  • MRI
  • X-rays with planar and 3D scans
  • gamma emission with planar and 3D scans
  • bioluminescence
  • fluorescence
  • PET
  • images from different modalities can be combined

In 2007-2008 the core added PET imaging, a new MRI, and has been funded for a cyclotron to produced short lived isotopes for PET scans.
The core again won the Siemens Preclinical Image of the Year Competition.
