Fellows are provided CME funding of $3,500 to purchase textbooks and to attend the North American Congress of Clinical Toxicology and the American College of Medical Toxicology Annual Spring Conference. Fellows also are expected to attend an international conference (i.e. EAPCCT, International Congress of the Asian Society of Toxicology) once during their tenure.

The medical toxicology fellowship’s goal is to graduate clinicians who have expertise in medical toxicology.  These graduates must be prepared to pass the board certification examination and have the tools to contribute in an academic teaching and research environment.  It is recognized that graduates of the medical toxicology fellowship will, in most cases, continue a career in their primary specialty.  For that reason, it is essential that the fellowship allow clinical practice activities that will sustain and continue to develop clinical skills in their primary specialty.  Ample opportunities to maintain clinical skills in the fellow’s primary specialty are available in the community and surrounding area.
