Going On the Wards at University Hospital

On the first day of the inpatient rotations, please report immediately after orientation to the teams on the services to which you have been assigned.  Their locations are:

General Medicine 1: 3 West
General Medicine 2: 3 Central

The "A" team is generally found in the conference room to the left as you face the nurses' station, and the "B" team is generally found in the conference room to the right.  The operative word here is "generally."

The easiest way to find you team is to locate your attending physician on the ward.  The attending schedule is noted in the important dates chart (link below)  You should introduce yourself to the attending and to the housestaff.

When possible, we will assign two students to each A or B team, and you will therefore be paired with an individual intern/resident team.  Your call schedule will follow that of the upper-level resident, so you might chose a team based on the specific schedule for that team.
