UVA employee/instructor Requirements for AHA BLS HCP Online Course

The purpose of this document is to outline the necessary application requirements for obtaining an access key for the online CPR renewal course.

  1. Please have your students/employees contact the Life Support Learning Center by Phone  at 924-1765, or e-mail at hh4f@virginia.edu to obtain access keys. This helps identify any potential problems.
  2. Each individual needs to call or e-mail the LSLC her/himself. This facilitates the gathering of information necessary for the distribution of a key. (Please allow one to two weeks for obtaining an access key). 
  3. Application for an access key should take place on or around the time of card expiration. This process should be started two to three months prior to the student/employee expiration date.  
  4. Once the student/employee completes the online course they must present the online certificate for a practice session and skills verification to a qualified AHA CPR instructor. The skills check must be completed within sixty days of the online course.
