UVA Health System CPR Training Guidelines  January 2005

There have been several changes to the CPR Competency/Certification requirements for 2005.  The most significant change is a move to a competency/certification every 2 years as opposed to the currrent annual training.  For the "off" year, additional resuscitation competencies will be available in NetLearning. 

CPR Competency requirements may be fulfilled by completing the NetLearning CPR Competency Module(s) and the hands-on skills evaluation with an AHA BLS Instructor.  The NetLearning CPR Competency modules are available for self-enrollment and must be completed prior to the skills session.    

In 2005 the Health System will use the American Heart Association's BLS Healthcare Provider Online Renewal Course.  Those required to renew the AHA BLS for Healthcare Provider card should contact the Life Support Learning Center (924-1765) to receive an access key.
