Basic Life Support (CPR) Training

These courses have been designed to teach the role of the health care provider and the community bystander within the emergency cardiac care system (ECC). The ultimate goal of these courses is that the participant be able to recognize an emergency, and be competent and confident enough to perform cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR), which includes the use of an AED (automated external defibrillator) as appropriate.

UVA Health System employees please note:

Any employee who attends a class within 4 months of their planned departure from the UVA Health System will be required to pay his/her registration fee.

Note: Registering for a course before the 4 month timeframe does not waive the registration fee.

CPR Competency Validation Forms

The Life Support Learning Center frequently gets requests for “check-off” forms to document an employee’s  completion of the CPR competency.  The following forms can be used if needed, but please note that the area/unit manager will need to fill in any additional unit- based CPR competencies.

These competency forms should not be used to validate skills for the AHA's BLS Healthcare Provider Online Renewal Course.
