…burn my iMovie project to DVD?

Introduction

Toast makes it simple to make a DVD from your iMovie project.

Step-By-Step

  1. After you've finished editing your movie in iMovie, save your project, and quit iMovie. You must quit iMovie before launching Toast.
  2. Launch Toast by clicking the iconToast 7 icon in the dock.
  3. Click the Video tab.
  4. In the drawer to the left, click the Formats button. Click the radio button next to DVD-Video. Under options, select No Menus in the Menu Style drop-down menu. Check the box next to Auto-play disc on insert. These options will allow your finished DVD to be played on most DVD players.

  5. Click the Media button. Select Movies from the drop-down menu. All iMovie projects in your Movie folder will be displayed. Click and drag the desired project into the area labeled Drag video files or pictures into this area. If your project is not in the Movies folder, double-click the hard drive icon, and navigate to your project, then drag and drop your project icon into the Toast window.

  6. If working on a G5, open the DVD tray by pressing the eject button eject icon on the keyboard. Insert a blank DVD-R and close the tray. If working on an iMac, insert the DVD into the slot on the right side of the computer.
  7. Click the red record button. Your project will begin encoding and burning.
  8. When finished, remove your DVD from the tray or slot.
