Library Technology Services & Development (LTSD)
The mission of the Library Technology Services & Development (LTSD) Department is to keep all Library computer services running efficiently and with minimal downtime.
The LTSD Department
- Supports all staff and public computers in the Health Sciences Library.
- Supports specialty hardware like barcode scanners and flatbed scanners.
- Deploys and manages all desktop application software and network clients on all Library computers, both public and staff.
- Works with Webmaster to develop and enhance the Library's Web site.
- Acts as a liaison to Health Systems Computing Services for Library staff e-mail accounts.
- Works with Alderman Library to support software related to the SIRSI OPAC system.
- Works with Information Technology and Communication (ITC) to ensure that Library switches, servers, and network infrastructure remains operational.
- Supports specialty applications like Ariel and Illiad.
- Assists with Grounds-wide implementation of the pay-for-printing project.
- Works with Library initiatives to provide technical guidance as needed.
The Department consists of the LTSD Manager (Bart Ragon), the Staff Computer Operations Technician (Jay Cotton), and the Computer Operations Technician (Stephanie Fielding). It is required to be on call for network and technical issues during evening and weekend hours.
