Under the direction of Nadine Ellero, Intellectual Access leads and provides intellectual access initiatives having a Library-wide and user/community focus. Major projects include the staff and public interfaces to the online catalog, imaging projects, and the Library’s Intranet known as Knowledge Web. These initiatives aim at fostering improved and faster (i.e. quality assurance) access to all the Library’s resources. Intellectual access involves the application of specialized record formats for electronic transmission, indexing, searching, and standardized national vocabularies for content/informational access.
