"The first thing I told my wife when I returned after my interview day at UVA was: 'This is a program I'd be proud to be a part of'. It is truly unique to find a university training program — known for both clinical and academic excellence — in a rural setting like Charlottesville. The people are friendly and the overall attitude is one of cooperation. In addition to the nurturing environment, there is a strong dedication to teaching and also excellent research opportunities and impressive fellowship placement.
My fellow residents are some of the most intelligent and supportive people I've ever worked with. I never feel alone when difficult decisions in patient care have to be made. The department chairman, the program director, and the chief residents work continuously to meet the needs of the residents and to strengthen the program. I never thought I would say this, but... I am actually having fun during my training here at UVA! Life outside the hospital is also remarkable: there are mountains to hike, golf courses to play, and tons of live music and fantastic restaurants to enjoy.
The program at UVA is the complete package... come see for yourself!"
