Nursing

Pediatrics

The University of Virginia Children's Hospital provides cutting-edge care to infants, children and adolescents with complex health issues. We serve young patients statewide.

As a nurse at our Children's Hospital, you'll develop specialized expertise through our strong orientation, continuing education and professional development programs, as well as through mentorship in bedside care delivery. Our fast-paced environment and high patient acuity continuously stimulate growth and learning in staff across all our settings.

Nurses play a key leadership role in the coordination of care. Through a well-established evidence-based practice system, nurses define and direct advances in care based upon national standards and best practices literature. With our focus on quality pediatric care, nursing excellence thrives in our tertiary Children's Hospital program.

  • Acute Care Pediatrics: 35-bed acute and intermediate care beds
  • PICU: Level 1 Trauma Center, full-service 12-bed unit
