The Reluctant Dragon
by
Eric "le-Couer" Hardy
After he read "The Fifty-first Dragon" in school, Eric dyed his own fabric to create this scene modeled after Maxfield Parrish's painting The Reluctant Dragon. The quilt puts Gawain, "the strong-hearted," in the company of a "reluctant dragon". Eric did an incredible job in using fabric dyes to create the mood of the sky. Look carefully at the quilt for the hidden castle in the background.
