HEP at Play
The Hospital Education Program (HEP) provides a number of
play opportunities for hospitalized children and their siblings at the
University of Virginia Children's Hospital. The Madge M. Jones Activity Terrace on the 7th
floor of University Hospital provides a safe setting where children can
imagine, explore, and create through supervised play. Child care
teachers in the waiting areas at the Primary Care Center and in the Atrium
at the Kluge Children's Rehabilitation Center also facilitate play as
well as art projects. Patients attending school at University Hospital
receive physical education taught by a certified physical education teacher.
All HEP services are free to children and their families. For additional information, contact (434) 924-2658.
