UVa Heart and Vascular Center
We are a "Heart Hospital" within a nationally ranked teaching medical center of UVa Health System. We are expanding and modernizing our outpatient and treatment space so that patients seeking heart and vascular care will receive outpatient services -- cardiovascular clinics, diagnostics, and interventional procedures such as cardiac cath and electrophysiology -- in one convenient location. Our Facility:

UVa Heart & Vascular Center includes 107 licensed inpatient beds, including a 10-bed coronary care unit and 5 cardiovascular operating rooms.

Annually, UVa Heart and Vascular Center cares for over 5,000 inpatients and 30,000 patients in its ambulatory clinics. And the Center performs over 14,000 non-invasive diagnostic studies, 4,000 catheterization and electrophysiology procedures, and 1,700 cardiovascular surgeries.

Includes a dedicated Chest Pain Center, the region's only accredited facility, in the UVa Emergency Room.
Highlights of Our Expansion:

Triples the size the existing clinic and laboratory/procedural space

Provides a dedicated public elevator to the Heart and Vascular Center from the hospital lobby, and dedicated patient connector from Clinic to Diagnostics

Integrates cardiology, vascular, and cardiovascular surgery specialities into 37 exam rooms

Creates state-of-the-art digital space to house 9 interventional cardiology procedures rooms, including a dedicated pediatric room

Adds 19 bed transition unit serving interventional cardiology post procedures

Expands diagnostic capabilities for echocardiography, stress testing, nuclear cardiology, and vascular

Creates dedicated clinical research suite to support additional clinic trials and quickly translates research into clinical practice.
