There are many useful on-line resources with tax information; among the many, here is a sample:

  • www.irs.gov   The IRS web page has among other things:  Tax Topics, Publications, and Forms to help you with Scholarships, Fellowships, Grants, and Stipends.

  • www.tax.virginia.gov    For Virginia residents, see the Virginia Department of Taxation site for access to:  forms, publications and schedules.

  • www.taxadmin.org/fta/link/   For non-Virginia residents, see The Federation of Tax Administrators map page--click on a state to go to that state's tax department website.

  • www.taxsites.com/  The Tax and Accounting Sites Directory has a comprehensive index of web-based tax and accounting resources with a very useful tax topics page (also see their Privacy policy).

  • www.virginia.edu/studentaccounts/tax_topics.html  The University of Virginia has a site with important topics for students; see the Memorandum entitled, Important Tax and Scholarship Information on taxability of scholarships and fellowships.

  • www.virginia.edu/iso/issp/student/studenttaxes.htm   For international students, the International Studies Office has information that may help you.
