          Having served Charlottesville and the surrounding communities for over 20 years, The Division of General Medicine, Geriatrics and Palliative Care is committed to the systematic development of effective approaches to the medical care of the underserved, elderly and end-of-life populations, while being guided by our core values of compassion,excellence and innovation.

          With the recent appointment of Division Chief,  Dr. Margaret Plews-Ogan, we have set our sights on further developing a national reputation in medical education, chronic illness care, patient safety, residency training in the new competencies, the expansion of our clinical programs in Geriatrics and Palliative Care, and the further pursuit of our research agenda.
