Monthly

Each month we host the GBS Student Symposium Series. It's a 45 minute student talk followed by lunch (who says there's no free lunch?). We try to vary the day of the talk as well as the location, in order to make it possible for everyone to attend a few around their other conflicts. It is a great, informal setting to present your data and get feedback about your research. If you are interested in presenting this year, contact John Tooley .

Spring Symposium

April 15th, 2008

Each year the Graduate Biosciences Society sponsors the annual Spring
Research Symposium. It is an all day celebration of graduate research --
featuring oral presentations, career seminars, research posters, contests,  and a prominent keynote address.

The keynote speaker this year is Dr. Jin Zhang from the John Hopkins School of Medicine.

Our career seminar will feature Dr. Michael Torok from PRA International.

A much anticipated event at the Symposium is the presentation of the
Michael J. Peach Outstanding Graduate Student Award. This prestigious
stipend award recognizes the accomplishments of our most talented and
creative senior students, and has become increasingly competitive each
year. (See your BIMS program chair for nomination procedures)

Last year's Award Winners

The Spring Research Symposium is a terrific way to share your current
research with your colleagues and peers in the Biomedical Sciences. You
can look forward to having breakfast and lunch on us, and there is a wine
and cheese reception following the keynote address. We hope to see you
and your poster at this year's symposium!
