Come enjoy a talk given by fellow graduate student Nikki Hastings from the Blackman lab in the Biomedical Engineering department. The title of her talk is "Atherosclerosis-prone Hemodynamics Promote Phenotypic Modulation of Human Endothelial and Smooth Muscle Cells". Lunch will be provided.
 
GBS Happy Hour - Friday, March 21st
 
5:30-8:30 pm at Orbit on the Corner
 
Enjoy $1 drafts with $3 payment at the door. Appetizers provided by GBS. 
 
Shaking the Academic Tree  - Tuesday, March 25th
 
A career day for students and post-docs to explore alternative careers.  Morning speakers and afternoon workshops in the Jordan Hall Conference center. For more information contact Staton Wade

GBS Spring Symposium  - Tuesday, April 15th

Our annual spring symposium highlight graduate student research through a poster session in the morning and student talks in the afternoon.  The career seminar will be given by Dr. Michael Torok a former BMBG graduate student who will speak about his experience as an entreprenuer and project manager at a clinical research firm. Our keynote address this year entitled "Dynamic visualization of signaling activities in living cells" will be given by Dr. Jin Zhang from Johns Hopkins School of Medicine.

Foxfield Races - Saturday, April 26th

Come enjoy the races with other bioscience graduate students! GBS will have two plots this year and will provide refreshments.  

We will also be offering bus transportation to and from the races on a first come first served basis. If you are interested please contact Julie McClure
