Financial Aid and Billing - Using SIS and QuikPay

After you apply for financial aid, you will receive an email from your counselor that details your financial aid eligibility.  The email will include instructions to log in to SIS to request loans.

Once you have requested your loans, you can review your financial aid at any time by logging in and clicking on "View Financial Aid":

Once your tuition has been billed, you will receive an email from studentaccounts@virginia.edu with the subject line "Your UVA Student Accounts Billing Statement is now available!"  You can then log in to SIS and click on QuikPay@UVA to view your tuition bill:

When you click on QuikPay, you'll see the QuikPay message board, which looks like this:

To view your bill, click on "View Accounts," then "Current Statement."  If the "Amount Due" is listed as "CR" or a negative amount, then that amount is the Credit that will be refunded to you.  This occurs when you have more financial aid than the amount of tuition; the leftover amount is refunded to you for books, supplies, and living expenses.  You should sign up for direct deposit to receive your refund.

To set up someone else to pay your tuition on your behalf, click on "Authorize Payers."  You or your authorized payer may pay tuition using an eCheck (provide your bank account information).  There is no charge to pay by eCheck.  In addition, MasterCard, American Express and Discover credit cards are accepted.  (VISA is not accepted!)  Our service provider charges a 2.75% service charge for all credit card payments.  The service fee is not refundable.

You may also pay via check by printing out the remittance slip and mailing it in with a check:

Your QuikPay bill will NOT update - if, for example, you request your loans after bills have been posted, or once you have made a payment.  To view up-to-the-minute account information, click on "Account Inquiry":

SIS Account Inquiry

Although you will not receive an updated bill, you do not have to pay any tuition that will be covered by financial aid.  If you request loans or aid after the tuition bill is created, you can determine the new amount you owe by viewing your Account Inquiry - you need only pay the difference between your Outstanding Charges and your Pending Financial Aid.

If anything on your bill is incorrect, please contact your counselor.
