Owen G. McKenzie, ACSW, CEAP, LSW Masters in Social Work (1974), University of Michigan, Bachelors in Sociology (1973), Certified Employee Assistance Professional since 1987. Over thirty years of progressive leadership and consistent record of achievement in program development, project management, contract negotiations, strategic market development and team-building. Designed, developed and implemented Employee Assistance Programs for Fortune 50 Company across seven states and ten plant sites. Developed provider networks in several major metropolitan communities. Broad sales experience in diverse environments. A member of the following organizations: National Association of Social Workers, Employee Assistance Professionals Association; and is a Certified Debriefer by the American Critical Incident Stress Foundation.
Rebecca Mason, MSN, RN, CS, CEAP Master of Science in Nursing (1992), University of Virginia; Bachelor of Science in nursing (1978), University of North Carolina. Certified as an Employee Assistance Professional and as a Clinical Specialist in Adult Psychiatric and Mental Health Nursing. Extensive experience with substance abuse assessment, intervention and treatment, particularly among Health Care Professionals. Additional experience helping employees deal with acute and chronic mental illness, medical problems affecting job, trauma and crisis management, department/managerial consultation, job-related stress and disability. Member of the Virginia Department of Health Professionals, Health Practitioner Intervention, Member of the American and Virginia Nurses Association and Employee Assistance Professionals.
Brenda Wilson, MSW, LCSW, CEAP Master of Social Work, (1980), Virginia Commonwealth University, Post-Graduate Externship in Structural Family Therapy and Licensed Clinical Social Worker for Virginia since 1987. She was Lead Social Worker and Assistant Professor of Social Work for UVA Health System for many years and earned the Social Work Administrator in Health Care award from the Virginia Society of Social Work Administrators in Healthcare in 1995. Ms. Wilson has been in the FEAP since 1998 and has extensive clinical experience in bio/psycho/social assessment, health and disability issues, elder caregiving and long term care, stress management, depression, midlife transitions, anger management, worksite and manager consultations, and critical incident management. Member National Association of Social Workers, National Association of Professional Geriatric Care Managers and Employee Assistance Professionals Association.
Mary Sherman, LCSW, CEAP Masters in Social Work, (1996) University of Maryland at Baltimore School of Social Work, specializing in Occupational/ Employee Assistance Programs. A member of the University of Virginia Employee Assistance Program since 1996. Extensive background in working with employee problems such as job stress, marital conflict, depression, anxiety, substance abuse, and domestic violence. Experienced trainer on issues including, but not limited to: Dealing with Difficult People, Stress Management, Domestic Violence, WorkLife, Balance, Supervisory Training, New Employee Orientations. Additional experience in management consultation, critical incident debriefings, and mediation. Graduate of Coaches Training Institute (December 2001). Authored a chapter on EAP’s in Sweden in International Employee Assistance Anthology. Member of the National Association of Social Workers, Employee Assistance Program Association, American Society for Training and Development, College and University Work Family Association.
Ida Perea, MSW, LCSW Master of Social Work(1978), Indiana University , concentration in Individual therapy. Bachelors in Psychology (1974), Penn State University , Post-Graduate training in Oncology Social Work at Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center . Over 30 years of experience in a variety of settings providing clinical assessment of clients/patients and professional management of social work teams. Employed by the University of Virginia Medical Center since 1993. Most recently held the position of Manager of the Department of Social Work at the University of Virginia until joining the Employee Assistance Program. Extensive background in presenting to audiences on a variety of topics including Stress Management, Communication Skills, Grieving and Loss, Financial and Legal Resources, and Coping with Aging. Previously served as faculty in the UVA School of Medicine, Practice of Medicine course, 1995-2002. Licensed Clinical Social Worker in the State of Virginia since 1995. Previous Social Work licenses held in Pennsylvania and South Carolina . Member of the Academy of Certified Social Workers since 1980.
