REMUNERATION (09/10)

• All residents are entitled to three weeks vacation per 12 months period 
• Time away from the residency program for educational purposes, such as workshops or continuing medical education activities, up to 5 days annually, is not counted in the general limitation on absences.

• medical and dental insurance

• disability insurance
• funding for journals and travel to meetings or off-site electives
• six weeks of paid maternity leave plus departmentally approved vacation time
• housestaff benefit money, which may be used to pay for parking, University gym membership, or meals
• Advanced Cardiac Life Support and Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certifications
• professional liability insurance, uniforms, laundering of uniforms, meal money for overnight calls, and gym and lounge facilities
• the University's athletic and recreational facilities may be used by housestaff for a nominal fee.
