I came to the University of Virginia in 2000 from 23 years in private practice in rural Woodstock, Virginia, a community of 5000. I had the privilege of being the Family Doctor for many extended families, some as large as five generations.
I am a Virginian, born and raised in Winchester. I received my undergraduate degree from the University of Richmond. I completed Medical School at the Medical College of Virginia and my Residency in Blackstone, Virginia, affiliated with the Medical College of Virginia. After 9 years as Medical Director of the Primary Care Center practice for the Department of Family Medicine, I was offered the opportunity to return to my roots in rural Virginia and establish a practice in western Albemarle County near Crozet, Virginia. I am excited about this opportunity to practice in lovely rural Virginia once again. I look forward to being a resource in the community and to bringing students and residents to this practice to show them the joy and rewards of caring for families in their own community away from the "Medical Center." My wife of 37 years and I currently live just outside of Charlottesville. We have three grown sons. We love the Virginia countryside and enjoy travelling to visit our children. I enjoy golf and music. |
