Award: $5,000 and "In Celebration of Teaching" Dinner, 4/25/07
Deadline: February 5, 2007
Who is eligible? All full-time faculty, tenured, tenure-track, or non tenure-track.
Selection process: The winner will be selected by the Teaching Awards Committee of UVA. The recipient, their nominator, and their chair and dean will be honored at the annual Rotunda dinner "In Celebration of Teaching," scheduled for Wednesday, April 25, 2007.
The nomination packet: Nomination packets for the award (1) should specify that the nominaton is for the award and (2) must include the following required information (with associated page limit), in this order:
- Brief executive summary, signed, noting the highlights of the nomination packet and making the case for selecting this nominee (1 page)
- Curriculum vitae of the nominee (2 pages)
- Six one-page letters of support in this order: 1 from the nominator, 1 from either the nominee's chair, associate dean, or dean; 4 from faculty colleagues mentored by the nominee offering explicit examples of how the mentoring influenced their professional life at UVA.
- Note: Nomination packets have an absolute page-limint total of 9 pages, in Times New Roman, 12-point font with MS Word default margins of 1" top/bottom and 1.25" left-right. Twelve copies (12) of the nomination packet should be delivered to the Provost's Office, PO Box 400308, Booker House, attention Deirdre Davie.
